Hermit Thrush

Length: 5.5-7.1 in (14-18 cm)

Hermit Thrushes are rich brown on the head and back, with a warm, reddish tail. The underparts are pale with distinct spots on the throat and smudged spots on the breast. Hermit Thrushes rarely visit backyards and generally do not visit feeders. However, during migration, they often forage on the ground or eat berries in yards with trees or shrubs. A winter visitor except in the mountains where they can be found all year round.
