Length: 4.7-5.5 in (12-14 cm)
A medium-sized sparrow with a large, round head, a seed-eating bill, and a medium length tail. Its most striking feature is the face pattern: neat gray bordered by two strong white stripes and a black triangular throat patch. Can be seen at feeders, but usually takes the seeds that have fallen to the ground.
